不是我的天

Today is so not my day! I took mom, dad and their friend to this Chinese-owned Japanese Restaurant where the service sucks. The waitress was Asian speaking Canglish - Cantonese English. When dad tried to order in Chinese, the stupid waitress said "I don't speak Chinese." and walked away. Let's not go into detail on how we were treated during meal and asked to pay extra because that will bring my blood pressure up (like it's not high already). Conclusion is - only dine in Japanese-owned Japanese restaurants in the future!

Funny thing is I never thought that Chinese/Taiwanese would be discriminated by HKnese. News was HKnese are kissing as many Mainland Chinese asses as possible since they are the ones keeping HK on most of the World competition charts.

This wasn't the end.

Mom was in her controlling mood today and so she kept giving me driving directions on our way home like I have never lived or drove in the city. I was still furious with the restaurant and she was on my nerve. To avoid growling at anyone, I chose to be silent all the way - which also means not talking to or replying her at all in the car.

Had to do something to get over my sh-tty mood, I ran to N Van for Hot Yoga in the afternoon. (well, technically, I didn't really "run" I drove.) When I got home, somehow they p-ssed each other off. I have no idea how but I think dad was not happy with mom first but that made mom not happy with dad. Am I making any sense here? uh... Anyhoo, now mom is sitting in my study doing her own things with my radio on the station I hate. And I couldn't do or say anything cuz I don't want to p-ss her off again. D-mn. I already have my ear plugs on and I can still hear it! I wish I can shut the whole room up so I can study now! Arh!

自然的力量

Stanley Park是全加第一大的市內公園 (全美第三大)
大過紐約Central Park, 已經可以算是一個小型森林
Stanley Park的南方直接連接Vancouver Downtown
北則是連接Lions Gate Bridge-往西北溫的主要幹道
實在想不出Vancouver有什麼比Stanley Park更著名的景點
不僅觀光客一定會去 就連住這裡的人都偶爾去逛逛

12月中有一場很大的storm, 包括我們家很多地方都停電
沒電視 沒瓦斯 沒電話 沒電燈 加上冬天五點就天黑了
可以想像我爹娘五點前就要吃完飯 洗完澡
然後也不能大眼瞪小眼 因為反正也看不到
只能抓抓頭 上床睡覺去
雖然被困在家裡三天 不過至少一切平安
隔壁家就沒這麼幸運 不但後園的大樹被吹倒
大樹還不偏不倚的壓在車庫上面
Stanley Park的慘則是上了好久的新聞

不過 今天帶爹娘到Stanley Park繞了一圈之後
才真正的見識到什麼叫做"災情"!
我看時速158公里更本不是"大風"!
一直開過比我們車還高好多的倒地樹根
上千棵的樹被連根拔起, 慘不忍睹...
最老的一棵百年大樹遺體現在被放在入口紀念
原本最大的景點"Prospect Point"更是離譜
居然樹被拔的太嚴重到造成土石流
現在到那裡要照Lions Gate或是海景可清楚了
因為原來遮蔽的樹都倒地不起了啊...
*悲* 親眼看到真的是太shock了!

雖然難過到快要流眼淚了
還是要給很多善心人士拍拍手
*拍拍手*拍拍手*拍拍手*
因為天災難測政府並沒有多餘經費賑災
於是HSBC就義務召集募款
目前已經募到2百70多萬
包含大善人JIM PATTISON捐的1百萬!!*拍手*拍手*
Stanley Park加油啊!

算是沒有慢太多
不過三天一改的study plan已經放棄
目前目標是13號前讀完Rita's
也可以收到verification form
畢竟再寄到PMI不知道要多久才能過
